Aims

The group is made up of just ordinary folk from a variety of backgrounds; each has been affected by Cancer in some way. The group`s purpose is to enable us support one and other through activities and information whichever the individual needs.

Our aim is to enjoy what we do so we are very happy when a trip is organised to a local vineyard or a speaker comes to give us the willies about the ghosts of some local haunt, or the chocoholics favourite learning how to make your own chocolate decorations.

There is a serious side to the group, which is to pass on our experience of the Cancer journey so it is a little easier for those who are just diagnosed and their loved ones.

The Group operates in the Suffolk and Norfolk area of England UK. We accept anybody who has been affected by Cancer. We are willing to talk on most subjects relating to Cancer and if there are things we do not know, we know a person who does.

This Web Site

The web site serves two functions, both have equal importance, the first is to help those people who do not have or do not wish to join a support group. The second is to give an online presence to the West Suffolk(Bury),Thetford and Sudbury Cancer Support Group.

The online functions are to make available information online, to offer a confidential online contact service, either through the support system in the online members area or email. For more general discussion we have a forum in the online members area.

Committee

We have a small committee as required by the Charity Commission which meets about 10 times a year. The minutes are posted in the members area of the website and a copy is made available to members to read.
